College track: Two Harbors native eighth at nationals

Hamline University's Jessie Juenemann of Two Harbors finished eighth in the discus competition on the opening day of the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday at Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Hamline University's Jessie Juenemann of Two Harbors finished eighth in the discus competition on the opening day of the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday at Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Juenemann, a sophomore, advanced to the finals with a mark of 146 feet, 1.5 inches. In the finals, competing in hot and humid conditions, she had a top throw of 134-4.75 to earn All-American honors.

The championships continue today and conclude Saturday.
