College track and field: UWS hurdler takes second

Wisconsin-Superior sophomore runner Valerie Rowe finished second in the 400-meter hurdles at the Hamline Women's Twilight Meet on Wednesday in Minneapolis.

Wisconsin-Superior sophomore runner Valerie Rowe finished second in the 400-meter hurdles at the Hamline Women's Twilight Meet on Wednesday in Minneapolis.

Rowe showed her versatility on the track, finishing a second and-a half off the lead in a time of 1 minute, 4.77 seconds. Fellow sophomore Taylor Phillips was the only other top-five finisher for UWS, with a fifth-place finish in the shot put on a 11.54-meter toss.
