The Minnesota Duluth men's track and field team took home 11 event titles at the Yellowjacket Open, taking place over the weekend on the campus of Wisconsin-Superior.
Austin Carlson and Jason Lilja highlighted the day with a pair of individual title wins. Carlson won the 400-meter dash in 50.90 seconds and the 200 in 23.10, while Lilja won the long jump and the high jump.
Thomas Udenberg and Evan Walpole were winners for the host Yellowjackets, as Udenberg won the shot put and Walpole the mile.
In the women's division, UMD won six events, while St. Scholastica and UWS took home three event titles each. Sammi Argir and Taylor Gibson won the 200 and 400 with times of 27.14 and 1:01.18, respectively, before both runners helped the Saints capture the 1,600-meter relay title in 4:14.43.
A trio of sophomores took home individual titles for the Yellowjackets. Kelli Praska took first in the 800 and Valerie Rowe won the 200. Taylor Phillips was the top finisher in the weight throw..

UMD's Danielle Kohlwey won the 60 hurdles for the second straight event, finishing in 8.84, while teammate Erica Kesseh won the 60 in 7.84. Katie Hawkinson won the triple jump while fellow junior Rachelle LeBlanc won the pole vault and sophomore Michaela Hesse caimed the high jump.
• UMD junior Emilee Trost finished third in the 1-mile run invite at the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa, over the weekend. Trost's time of 4:39.46 was a half-second off the lead.
