St. Scholastica swept Crown College 5-2 and 8-7 on Sunday at Kenwood Field in Duluth to run their winning streak to eight games and clinch a 10th-straight UMAC regular season title.
In the 5-2 win that opened the day, center fielder Cindi Rylund used a pair of singles to drive in three runs. Third baseman Maggie Schley homered to right center field in the fifth to drive in two runs.
In Game 2, Crown scored four runs in the top of the seventh to tie the game at 7-7, but Saints right fielder Nicole Anders RBI-single in the bottom of the seventh brought home pinch runner Ellie Haney for the winning-run. Schley homered again, this time a solo shot in the third. She finished with three hits and three RBIs.
As the top seed, the Saints (20-11 overall, 14-2 UMAC) will host the five-team double-elimination UMAC tournament Thursday through Sunday at Kenwood Field in Duluth.
• Wisconsin-Superior (18-16, 12-4) closed the regular season with a sweep of Northland College in UMAC play Sunday, winning 7-1 and 14-0. In Game 1, third baseman Alayna Tulip had three hits and designated player Lizzy Borgwardt drove in three runs. In Game 2, pitcher Damara Theis gave up one hit in five innings for the win, getting Northland to hit into nine groundouts. Up next for the Yellowjackets is the UMAC tournament in Duluth.

• Minnesota Duluth (37-11, 19-5 NSIC) finished the regular season third in the NSIC following a pair of losses Sunday at Malosky Stadium to No. 13-ranked Augustana 4-1 and 5-1. Becky Smith drove in the Bulldogs lone run in the opener with a solo homer. An RBI double by Kalynn Tilton resulted in the lone UMD run in Game 2.
The second game Sunday was the 210th consecutive game for Smith and fellow senior Natalie Wright, giving them the UMD record previously set by Tyre Kerr in 2013.
In a game that ended late Saturday night, the Bulldogs finished off a sweep of Wayne State with a 9-6 win. Smith hit a solo home run in the fourth inning to put the Bulldogs ahead 7-5. Six runs came in the second and third innings.
UMD opens the double elimination NSIC tournament against Sioux Falls at noon Thursday in Sioux Falls.
