College softball: Saints sweep North Central

Lily Kagan doubled and tripled and drove in two runs to help St. Scholastica to a 9-1, five-inning victory over North Central on Wednesday, completing a UMAC doubleheader sweep at Saints Field.

Audi Blonk allowed just two hits in four innings and struck out five for the Saints (10-9 overall, 4-0 UMAC), who won the opener 12-0 in five innings.

Vanessa Kohl of Duluth didn't allow a hit in three innings, struck out five and walked four in the first game. The Saints generated 11 hits - four by shortstop Alexa Bremer - while Toni Bishop, Kollyn Kanters and Kohl each had a pair of hits. Bishop and Cindi Rydlund drove in two runs apiece, while Bremers scored three runs.
