Minnesota Duluth accomplished a handful of milestones in the Bulldogs' 14-2 and 10-0 NSIC sweep of Northern State on Thursday at Malosky Stadium.

Senior Becky Smith, Natalie Wright and Hannah Schmoll all started their 200th consecutive games for the Bulldogs, freshman Jessica Bren hit her school-record tying 15th home run of the season and third-year coach Jen Walter earned her 100th UMD victory.

Both games only went five innings as the Bulldogs - who are 101-45 under Walter in two seasons - got strong pitching from Breanna Swint (16-2) and Valerie Hohol (13-4), who helped hold Northern State to five hits in each game.

Smith had four hits in the opener, while Taylor Koehnen added two hits, two runs and three RBIs.

Bren had one of UMD's four home runs in the rematch, a three-run shot which tied Kierra Jeffers' 2013 mark, as the Bulldogs (31-8 overall, 13-3 NSIC) overpowered the Wolves (20-16, 10-6) to win their ninth straight.
