Three first-year St. Scholastica women’s Nordic ski team members finished in the top 18 in the 15-kilometer freestyle Sunday at the Northern Michigan Invitational in Marquette, Mich.
Maj-Lis Helmer was 15th in a time of 49 minutes, 21 seconds, followed by Maggie Whitaker in 17th and Mia Case in 18th.
Northern Michigan won the event with 56 points, led by individual winner Malin Boerjesjoe in 44:06. St. Scholastica finished third with 27 points.
CSS sophomore Lars Dewall was 19th in the 20-kilometer men’s freestyle race in 55.51.
Northern Michigan won with 56 points, led by Zak Ketterson in 50:15. The Saints finished fourth with 21 points.
