College men’s soccer: Scots blank Saints in MIAC action

Hans Haenicke scored on a low-center shot at 7:04 and Omar Anward scored on a low-right shot at 14:33 to stake the Scots to the early lead.

It would stay that way until more than 80 minutes in when Ben Wagner and Silas Southworth added insurance goals to cement the win for Macalester (7-6 overall, 4-2 MIAC).

Liam Lothian had six saves for the Saints (6-7-1, 2-4-1), whose next action is a nonconference game at Wisconsin-Superior at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20.
