College men’s soccer: Saints finish UMAC regular season unbeaten

Sophomore forwards Kyle Farrar and Shawayne Folkes each scored twice and freshman goaltender Jacob Ballheimer recorded his 12th shutout of the season in St. Scholastica’s 6-0 victory over Martin Luther College on Saturday in New Ulm, Minn., to wrap up a perfect 14-0 season in the UMAC.
The No. 1-seeded Saints (18-2) will host a conference tournament semifinal at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Saints Field against the No. 4 seed, which is yet to be determined.
Farrar finished the regular season with 21 goals after scoring four times over the weekend. He scored in the 22nd and 36th minutes Saturday.
Folkes enters the postseason with 15 goals after scoring in the eighth and 74th minutes. Junior midfielder Sean Morgan and junior defender Tom Corcoran had the other Saints goals, Corcoran scoring for the 20th time this season.
Ballheimer, who leads the UMAC in shutouts, made six saves.
