College men's hockey: UMD slips to fourth in poll

After two narrow losses to the No. 1-ranked college hockey team in the country, Minnesota Duluth dropped a spot to fourth in the United States College Hockey Online Division I men's poll, released Monday.

After two narrow losses to the No. 1-ranked college hockey team in the country, Minnesota Duluth dropped a spot to fourth in the United States College Hockey Online Division I men's poll, released Monday.

The Bulldogs (21-11-2) finished the regular season getting swept by top-ranked and NCHC Penrose Cup champion St. Cloud State. The Huskies (27-4-3) received 49 of 50 first-place votes.

St. Cloud State and UMD are the 1-2 seeds for the first round of this weekend's NCHC playoffs.

Other ranked NCHC teams include Denver at No. 8, Western Michigan at No. 12 and North Dakota at 19th.
