Duluth Denfeld graduate Chris Stafne scored an even-strength goal with 1:50 remaining to cap a three-goal third period in Wisconsin-Stout's 4-4 tie against St. Scholastica in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association men's playoff game Friday night at Mars Lakeview Arena.

Sam Carr and Garrett Grimstad scored earlier in the third for the Blue Devils (8-16-2), who finished last in the NCHA regular season. Second-seeded St. Scholastica (15-7-4) took a 4-0 lead on goals by Alex Valenti, Brenden Bradbury, Dave Williams and Tyler Miller.

The teams meet against at 7 p.m. today in a winner-take-all game.
