College men's basketball: UMD's Hottenstine, Ervin on all-NSIC team

Minnesota Duluth guard Jake Hottenstine and center Brett Ervin were named to the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Second Team, announced Wednesday.

Minnesota Duluth guard Jake Hottenstine and center Brett Ervin were named to the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Second Team, announced Wednesday.

Hottenstine, a senior from Green Bay, averaged 15.7 points while leading the Bulldogs at 33 minutes per game. He was also a standout defensively.

Ervin, a junior from Eden Prairie, Minn., averaged a team-high 16.2 ppg while knocking down 47 percent of his 3-pointers. He also led the Bulldogs in rebounds (4.6 rpg) and assists (2.3 apg).

Winona State senior center Clayton Vette (player of the year), Augustana center Daniel Jansen (freshman of the year), Minnesota State-Mankato senior guard Jarvis Williams (defensive player of the year and newcomer of the year) and Southwest Minnesota State's Brad Bigler (coach of the year) took home the conference's top honors.
