The Wisconsin-Parkside duo of Zygimantas Riauka and Jimmy Gavin proved too tough to stop in a 79-61 victory over Minnesota Duluth on Sunday at Romano Gym.
Riauka scored 24 points on 9-for-11 shooting from the field and Gavin added 20 points on 7-for-10 shooting to lead Parkside (4-0). Their efforts helped the Rangers shoot 60.8 percent and 24-for-33 from inside the 3-point stripe.
UMD senior guard Reece Zoelle put together his best game of the young season, shooting 7-for-11, including 5-for-7 in the first half, to finish with 19 points. He added three assists and five rebounds. Senior center Brett Ervin also hit double figures with 16 points. Zoelle and Ervin each made three 3-pointers for the Bulldogs (3-2).
Parkside dominated inside, scoring 46 points in the lane to UMD’s 18.
