The Minnesota Duluth men's team will make its third trip to Williams Arena for a season-opening exhibition game against the University of Minnesota at 7 p.m. Thursday.
In the Bulldogs' two previous visits to the 'Barn' they lost 67-59 in 2001 and 95-68 four seasons ago.
The Gophers were 15-17 last season but return four starters, including preseason All-Big Ten selection Jordan Murphy (16.8 points per game, 11.3 rebounds per game).
UMD returns all five starters, including Superior native Brandon Myer, who led the team in points (19.8), rebounds (7.6), blocks (1.1) and steals (1.0) a season ago.
The game also marks the debut of Bulldogs coach Justin Wieck, who spent the past four seasons on the Minnesota State-Moorhead coaching staff. He is the 17th men's coach in school history.
