Saints' win streak snapped
Northwestern used a big first half to beat St. Scholastica 78-61 on Friday night in an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference men's game before 1,128 spectators in St. Paul, snapping the Saints' six-game winning streak.
Tom Gisler had 17 points and seven rebounds, while Lance Westberg had 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead Northwestern (11-9 overall, 6-3 UMAC). The Eagles had five players reach double figures in scoring.
Chris Hamers (14), Brett Tester (13) and Derek Steve (11) were in double figures for St. Scholastica (10-10, 7-2), but the Saints shot only 39.7 percent from the field and got only five points from their bench.
