Kory Deadrick's second-half heroics gave St. Scholastica a 93-84 UMAC win over Minnesota-Morris on Friday night in Morris, Minn.
The Esko native broke a 74-74 tie with four consecutive 3-pointers to give the Saints (14-9 overall, 10-4 UMAC) an 86-74 lead with 3:52 to play. Deadrick added another 3-pointer a minute later to finish with 17 points. Deadrick's run proved the difference in a back-and-forth game that was tied on 12 separate occasions.
The Cougars (13-10, 8-6) started the game on a 16-0 run, but CSS quickly rebounded and both teams went into the break tied at 44.
