Michigan Tech topped Minnesota Duluth 78-58 in a nonconference pairing Saturday in Houghton, Mich.
Reece Zoelle hit a 3-pointer to put the Bulldogs up 9-2 with 16:57 left in the first half, but the Huskies outscored UMD 37-16 over the remainder of the period and took a 39-25 lead into the locker room. UMD cut its deficit to 11 early in the second half, but eventually fell behind by 24 with 1:17 remaining.
Zoelle had 16 points and four rebounds, while Peter Crawford added 12 points for UMD (1-1).
