Joey Witthus scored 16 points as Minnesota State-Mankato downed Minnesota Duluth 56-51 in a defensive NSIC contest Friday night before 1,241 at the Taylor Center in Mankato, Minn.
Cole Harper and Charlie Brown added eight points apiece for the Mavericks (16-7 overall, 11-6 NSIC), who outscored UMD 34-26 in the second half.
Jake Wilson had 14 points and Logan Rohrscheib and Ryan Kaczynski added 13 points apiece for the Bulldogs (4-19, 3-14), who have lost nine straight.
