Thunder open season today
The Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College football team opens its sixth season against Minnesota State-Fergus Falls at 7 p.m. today at Bromberg Field in Cloquet.
Coach Keith Turner returns for this third season, with more than 60 players reporting to camp, including seven starters on offense and five on defense. Among the top returners are defensive end Andrew Youngren of Barnum, offensive lineman Mark Murray and tight end Cameron Stanley of Superior, defensive end Darnell Colvin and wide receiver Michael Wallace. Running back/tight end Jordan Myles of Floodwood is among the top incoming players.
The Thunder slipped to 3-6 last fall after going 5-4 in 2010 and having the top-ranked offense in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference North Division.
