Junior quarterback Zach Edwards set a program record with 29 completions while throwing for a career-high 371 yards and four touchdowns to lead St. Scholastica to a 46-20 victory over Crown College on a steamy 86-degree Saturday in their UMAC opener before 567 at KleinBank Stadium in St. Bonifacius, Minn.
After taking a 9-0 lead after the first quarter, the Saints (1-1 overall, 1-0 UMAC) broke the game open with 23 points in the second quarter to take a 32-0 halftime lead.
Junior running back Jeff LeMay was a threat running and catching the ball, with 65 rushing yards and two touchdowns and six receptions for a team-high 87 receiving yards as the Saints amassed 513 yards of offense while scoring at least 45 points for the fifth straight time against Crown.
Junior Eddie Lee added seven receptions for 86 yards and two more scores as the Saints had four receivers with at least five catches and 70 yards each. Senior wide receiver Aaron Olson of Esko recorded a TD reception for the 17th straight UMAC game while interim coach George Penree recorded his first collegiate victory.
Junior defensive lineman Trevor Schwartz's seven tackles led a St. Scholastica defense that held the Storm to 166 yards, including a paltry 23 rushing yards on 35 attempts. The Saints also had two safeties in a game for the first time in program history.

David McIntosh caught four passes for 43 yards and two fourth-quarter touchdowns to lead Crown (0-3, 0-1).
St. Scholastica returns to Duluth for its home opener against Westminster (Mo.) at noon Sept. 22 at Public Schools Stadium.
