Wisconsin-Superior announced Friday that it is removing the interim tags from basketball coaches Zach Otto-Fisher (women) and Greg Polkowski (men).

Otto-Fisher guided the UWS women to the NCAA Division III tournament after replacing Don Mulhern, who resigned in September to take over at St. Catherine University in St. Paul. In Otto-Fisher's first season at the helm, the Yellowjackets went 23-5, including 16-0 in UMAC play. They were the conference regular season and tournament champions for the third year in a row.

Otto-Fisher, a UWS alumnus, joined Mulhern's staff as an assistant in 2016-17.

Polkowski walked into a similar situation after taking over for Paul Eberhardt, who left the men's program in October. Polkowski, a former UWS and Wisconsin-Eau Claire assistant who played for the Yellowjackets from 2004-08, oversaw a 7-18 winter and seventh-place UMAC finish.

According to a news release from the school, UWS conducted a national search to fill both positions before staying with Polkowski and Otto-Fisher.
