Mackayla Orr’s 3-pointer with 3:27 remaining gave Jamestown College the lead for good in a 72-69 exhibition victory over the St. Scholastica women on Sunday at Reif Gymnasium.
Kyra Dewald led Jamestown with 17 points, while Taylor Hammer had 13 points and 15 rebounds.
Michala Walther led CSS with 29 points on 11-for-15 shooting.
The Saints open regular-season play Friday at Gustavus Adolphus.
r Wisconsin-Superior opens the season Tuesday at Mertz Mortorelli Gym, with the women taking on St. Benedict at 6 p.m., followed by the men against St. John’s at 8 p.m. The UWS women return two starters from a team that went 24-4, including UMAC player of the year Hailey Kontny (13.2 ppg). The UWS men return junior guard Nate Kalien from a team that went 12-14.
