Wisconsin-Superior picked up its third and fourth wins in its past five games Friday, sweeping Martin Luther 10-4 and 9-0 in a UMAC doubleheader in New Ulm, Minn.
Yellowjackets pitcher Elliot Danhoff threw a four-hit shutout in the second game, striking out 10 batters and walking eight. UWS center fielder Brandon Rolf had a two-RBI double in the first inning and an RBI triple in the sixth. First baseman Cory Albertson hit a three-run homer, also in the sixth.
In the opener, UWS scored six runs in the sixth inning to erase a 3-0 deficit. Third baseman Stephen Albertson was 2 for 5 to lead the Yellowjackets, recording a double and three RBIs. Catcher Colin Welch was 2 for 3 with two RBIs.
The Yellowjackets (5-20 overall, 3-6 UMAC) are back in Superior on Sunday for a UMAC doubleheader against North Central starting at 1:30 p.m.
