Wisconsin-Superior allowed a combined 26 runs in a nonconference doubleheader loss to Macalester College on Wednesday in St. Paul.
In the opener, the Yellowjackets (2-9) allowed seven runs in the first four innings in a 7-5 loss.
Nick McMullen drove in three runs on a double and home run, and Scots teammate Alex Barretta was 3-for-3 with a double and triple, while scoring three runs and driving in two more.
After Braeden Barr put UWS on the board with a solo homer in the fourth inning, the Yellowjackets added four more runs in the fifth and sixth.
In the second game, Macalester defeated UWS 19-8 thanks to an 11-run fourth inning. The Yellowjackets took a 7-3 lead with a seven-run second inning, as Travis Miller drove in three runs on two hits in the frame, including a two-run home run, before the Scots (10-6) roughed up a Yellowjackets pitching staff that has a 10.61 team ERA.
