Trailing by four runs and looking to avoid its eighth consecutive loss to open the season, Wisconsin-Superior rallied to a five-run sixth inning and a 10-9 victory over Buena Vista (Iowa) University in nonconference college baseball action Monday in Tucson, Ariz.
Braeden Barr had three hits and two RBIs as the Yellowjackets (1-7) split the doubleheader, losing 7-6 in the opener. Mike Rodriguez, who was 2 for 2 with a triple, drew a bases-loaded walk in the top of the sixth that plated Bryce Flanagan for the go-ahead run.
Buena Vista (4-8) started the day by scoring two runs in the top of the seventh turn a 6-5 deficit into a 7-6 win. In that game, Flanagan tripled among his three hits.
