The Bulldogs (8-8 overall, 5-1 NSIC) celebrated their program debut at the new Minnesota Vikings stadium with two touchdowns and two two-point conversions in a 16-3 win over the Beavers (4-12, 1-3) in the opener.

UMD jumped to an eight-run lead in the first two innings, before pulling away with a five-run fifth. Brett Milazzo led the Bulldogs with three hits, while Matt Vogt was 2-for-4 with a double and a home run to right field, totaling four RBIs. Overall, UMD recorded a season-high 22 hits.

Sophomore pitcher Ryan Cunningham of Britt earned the win with two runs allowed and six strikeouts over six innings.

In the second game, North Dakota State transfer Colin Baumgard tossed a complete-game gem as UMD won 6-1. The junior allowed one run on four hits while striking out six. Senior shortstop Bryan Pierce gave UMD a 3-1 lead with a two-RBI single in the second inning, and junior outfielder Grant Farley had a three-run home run in the fifth to put the game out of reach.
