College baseball: UMD to open season at U.S. Bank Stadium

Minnesota Duluth opens its season with a doubleheader against Southwest Minnesota State at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

The Bulldogs, who were 16-33 last season and 12-24 in the NSIC, head to Kissimmee, Florida, on their spring trip for games March 5-9.

UMD was picked 11th of 15 in the recent NSIC coaches’ preseason poll but returns 27 letterwinners, led by junior outfielder Henry George (team-leading .388 batting average).
