Minnesota Duluth baseball alum Tyler Erickson, minor-league pitcher Kevin Folman and former Duluth Huskies manager Daniel Hersey have joined the Bulldogs staff as assistant coaches for the 2018-19 season.

Erickson started four years at shortstop for the Bulldogs and exited the program in 2011 as its all-time leader in both hits (237, a mark that has since been eclipsed) and defensive assists (458). Erickson also cobbled together a school-record 29-game hitting streak.

Folman, a native of Hermantown, closed the books on a rewarding four-year career at North Dakota State University this past May, posting the second-most saves (15) in program history. He went on to play in the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball, the Arizona League, the Pioneer League and with the Northwoods League's Huskies.

Hersey served as manager of the Huskies from 2010-17, directing them to Northwoods League playoff appearances in 2013 and 2015. Last spring, he assisted with the Proctor High School baseball program.
