Emporia State handed Minnesota Duluth a pair of one-run defeats Saturday, 4-3 and 2-1 at Emporia, Kan.
UMD (4-6) allowed only three hits in the opener but the Hornets (12-9) scored the winning run on a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning. Tyler Midas and Cory Krolikowski each had two of the Bulldogs' six hits.
The Bulldogs were held to one run and four hits by six Emporia pitchers in the nightcap. Emporia State broke a 1-1 tie in the eighth on one of their six total hits.
