Minnesota Duluth and Southwest Minnesota State took their show on the road Thursday to Eaton Field in Wakefield, Neb., for an NSIC doubleheader, and the Bulldogs came away with 13-10 and 8-5 victories.

Avoiding the more inclement weather of Minnesota, the teams played in balmy 46-degree temperatures, with Tyler Midas powering UMD to victory in the seven-inning opener, going 3 for 4 with a home run, double, three runs and four RBIs. Trailing 13-3, Southwest came back with seven runs in the bottom of the seventh and had the tying run at the plate before Evan Vick got a groundout to end the game.

Eric Yachinich, Chris Saltzmann and Anders Brown each had two RBIs in the nine-inning rematch to lead UMD (13-11 overall, 9-3 NSIC), while Colin Baumgard (3-0) allowed two runs and four hits in seven innings to get the win. Saltzmann's two-run home run in the top of the sixth inning wound up being the game winner.

Trailing 7-2, Southwest (9-13, 4-8) came back with three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning and had the tying run at the plate in the bottom of the ninth, but UMD senior Marcus Fredrickson came in and got a strikeout to end the game.
