Minnesota Duluth is picked to finish sixth in the NSIC Baseball Coaches' Poll, released today.
The Bulldogs garnered 132 points after a season in which they went 26-28 overall and 18-19 in conference play. UMD returns the bulk of its top hitters, including senior catcher Tyler Midas (.320 BA) and senior outfielder Brett Milazzo (.319), as well as starting pitchers Rece Dietrich (2.80 ERA) and Marcus Frederickson (3.69).
Minnesota State-Mankato is the coaches' pick to win the NSIC for the eighth time in the last nine years. The Mavericks, the defending NSIC regular season and tournament champions, received 196 points and 14 first-place votes. Augustana is picked to finish second and received the remaining first-place vote.
