DULUTH — The College of St. Scholastica named Jessica Cherry as the school's next director of athletics and recreation, according to a press release on Thursday.

Cherry comes to CSS after two years at Division III Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia, where she was the associate director of athletics for compliance and the school's senior woman administrator.

Cherry has more than 20 years of experience in coaching and athletic administration, including stops at Colby College in Maine and York College of the City University of New York.

"Jessica brings a depth of experience and an infectious spirit to St. Scholastica," said new Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs Nate Dehne in the release. "Her student-centered approach, mixed with her progressive experience in athletic administration makes her a perfect fit for the department and the greater St. Scholastica and Duluth communities."

At CSS, Cherry succeeds Merissa Edwards, who served as the interim AD for the 2021-22 school year after the school's last permanent AD, Franco Bari, resigned in June 2021. She takes over the position effective Sept. 1.
