The campfire ban imposed in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and other undeveloped areas of the Superior National Forest has been lifted due to recent heavy rains across much of the region.
Forest Service officials had imposed the ban in June due to unusually dry conditions. Campfires and charcoal fires are now allowed in all areas of the forest, officials announced Friday.
