Hill Alexander’s single scored Josh Hollander with the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Green Bay Bullfrogs rallied to beat the visiting Duluth Huskies 6-5 on Thursday in their first game following the Northwoods League All-Star break.
Duluth had some late-inning heroics of its own as Jake Pries hit a two-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give the Huskies a 5-4 lead. Duluth, however, couldn’t hold it as the Bullfrogs (7-6 second half) pieced together two runs on three hits in the final frame, taking advantage of a walk and hit batter.
Pries, of UCLA, finished 2-for-3 with two runs and three RBIs to lead the Huskies (4-9), who committed six errors.
The same teams play again at 7:05 p.m. today in Green Bay.
