ST. CLOUD -- Two third-period goals sent St. Cloud State to a 3-1 victory over Minnesota Duluth in a WCHA men's hockey game Friday at the National Ice Center.
Tony Mosey scored 2 minutes, 33 seconds into the final period, and Brian Volpei added an insurance goal at 13:20 as the Huskies (11-9-1) stopped UMD's four game winning streak over St. Cloud.
UMD, which got a first-period goal from Mike Connolly, fell to 9-6-6. Alex Stalock had 31 saves for the Bulldogs.
Game 2 of the series is 7:07 tonight in St. Cloud.
