The Minnesota Duluth women’s basketball team announced Monday it has canceled its NSIC series against the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota, on Jan. 15-16 due to COVID-19 protocols.

According to a UMD news release, previous exposure and testing protocols within the Bulldogs program forced cancellation of the series.

UMD has opened the season 3-0 after sweeping a pair of weekend games against Minot State at Romano Gym, but the team's second game at Winona State on Jan. 3 also was canceled due to COVID-19.

The Bulldogs’ series at Minnesota State-Moorhead on Jan. 22-23 is still on as scheduled.
