Junior forward Brooke Olson scored 18 of her game-high 27 points in the first half as Minnesota Duluth started fast and rolled past Minot State 72-57 in NSIC women’s basketball from Romano Gym, extending the Bulldogs’ home winning streak to 27 games.
Senior forward Sarah Grow added 14 of her 16 points in the first half as UMD (3-0) had a commanding 41-23 lead at the break. Grow finished with a game-high 11 rebounds while Olson added seven while shooting 9 of 15 from the field and 3 of 5 from 3-point range.
Senior guard Ann Simonet added 14 points, four assists and three steals for the Bulldogs, who swept the two-game weekend series from the Beavers.
Calli Delsman had 15 points, six rebounds and four assists to lead Minot State (0-4).
UMD shot 49.1% from the field (28-for-57), 43.8% on 3-pointers (7-16) and outrebounded Minot State 36-26.
