Eva Reinertsen finished with 23 points and seven rebounds and Marissa Ruiz had 14 points as Wisconsin-Superior defeated Martin Luther 81-43 on Saturday at Mertz Mortorelli Gym in Superior.

Martin Luther was within a point of the Yellowjackets after the first quarter but UWS outscored the Knights 29-9 in the second quarter to take command.

The 'Jackets' Emily Carpenter and Ellie Leadstrom both scored 10 points and Leadstrom also grabbed eight rebounds.

UWS (12-2, 16-7), winner of three straight, takes on Northwestern at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday in Superior.

  • Minnesota Morris' Mia Wassink hit two free throws with six seconds left in the second overtime to put the Cougars up one and a St. Scholastica 3-point shot at the buzzer missed as UMM defeated the Saints 88-87 on Saturday at Reif Gym in Duluth.

Wassink led the Cougars with 22 points and Abby Van Kempen and Lexus Eagle Chasing both scored 16 points. Van Kempen also had 14 rebounds.

Karli Skog led a trio of Saints surpassing 20 points with 23 points. Skog also had seven rebounds. Alison Huber had 21 points and Kaylee Kennedy finished with 20 points.

CSS (7-8 UMAC, 9-15 overall) plays its final regular-season game against Northwestern at 4:45 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Reif Gym.
