Wisconsin-Superior is one victory from appearing in its fourth consecutive UMAC championship game.
The top-seeded Yellowjackets (23-2) open play in the UMAC tournament against the University of Northwestern (14-12) at 7 p.m. Thursday at Mertz Mortorelli Gym. The game was moved back a day due an expected snowstorm Wednesday.
UWS is led by senior Hannah Norlin, who averages 17.5 points and 9.3 rebounds per game this season, and Duluth’s Eva Reinertsen (15.1 ppg), who shoots 42 percent from 3-point range.
In contrast, the Eagles’ leading scorer, Amy Berglund, averages only 11.6 points in conference games.
The winner advances to Saturday’s championship game against either Bethany Lutheran or Minnesota-Morris. UWS has won all three titles since joining the league.
