College women's basketball: UMD wins fifth straight

Minnesota Duluth roared to a 19-point halftime lead and shut down South Division-leading Augustana 69-45 in an NSIC game Friday night at Sioux Falls, S.D.

Emma Boehm led a contingent of four Bulldogs in double figures with 14 points, but it was a UMD defense that held the Vikings (19-7 overall, 11-6 NSIC) to 15-for-62 shooting (24.2 percent) that determined the outcome.

The Bulldogs (15-5, 14-3), who remained second in the North Division, jumped to leads of 20-11 after one quarter and 38-19 at the half.

Ann Simonet had 12 points, Sarah Grow totaled 11 and Sammy Kozlowski added 10 for UMD, which won its fifth consecutive game.

Lynsey Prosser scored 22 points to lead Augustana, which fell to second place in its division with five-regular season games left.
