Northwood/Solon Springs advanced to Wednesday's regional baseball final via an 11-0 win over Mellen in five innings on Tuesday in Solon Springs.

Freshman pitcher Kaden Corlett gave up one hit over four innings with one walk and nine strikeouts. That lone hit finally came in the fourth inning.

Syver Gulbrandsen drove in a pair of runs in the first with a two-RBI single and Drake Debeir registered a two-RBI single in the third inning. Debeir finished 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored.

Northwood/Solon Springs plays Washburn on Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Northwood.

River Falls 6, Superior 1

Superior finished the 2021 season with a 16-6 record after falling in the regional baseball semifinals on Tuesday.

Jason Samarziya finished 2-for-3 at the plate for the Spartans, whose one run came unearned in the top of the second inning. River Falls responded with five runs, all earned, in the bottom of the second.

Mason Stenberg came on in relief for Superior in the second inning. He gave up one run off six hits with a walk and six strikeouts in four-plus innings.
