Minnesota Duluth was picked to finish 10th by NSIC baseball coaches in the annual preseason poll released Thursday.
The Bulldogs, who only played eight games last season before the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, return 29 letterwinners including senior captain Henry George (.333 batting average in 2020) and senior pitcher Mitchell Waletzki (1-1, 12 strikeouts). The Bulldogs also return junior right hander Liam Blaschko (3.18 ERA).
Junior C/1B/OF Tosten Mann, who started all seven games he appeared in, carrying a .308 batting average, sophomore infielder/pitcher Alex Watterman and senior pitcher/infielder Brodie Paulson all are back.
Augustana was chosen for the third consecutive season to win the league.
The Bulldogs are scheduled to open the NSIC season March 20 at Concordia-St. Paul.
