St. Scholastica scored six runs over the final three innings to defeat the University of Northwestern 10-4 in the first game of a UMAC doubleheader Monday in St. Paul.

The Saints (13-8 overall, 6-0 UMAC) stayed on top of the conference with a 5-1 victory in the nightcap.

James Fuerniss supplied four RBIs, while Conor Wollenzien, Aaron Weber, Eric Pearson, Lane Girtz and Cole Tyman had two hits apiece in the 13-hit attack in the opener.

Isaac Rocha and Jake Sande combined on a four-hitter, with Rocha striking out six in five innings.

Brad Fossum, Cody Venske and Wollenzien had a pair of hits in the second game, which was keyed by Grant Taival's complete-game five-hitter.
