The Duluth Huskies rallied in the eighth inning for the second straight night to down the Minnesota Mud Puppies 10-7 in Northwoods League baseball Friday night before 692 at Wade Stadium.
On Thursday, Duluth scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth to win 5-5. This time, the Huskies scored six runs on six hits in the bottom of the eighth.
The offense was spread around for the Great Plains East leading Huskies (7-3 in the second half), with Central Florida’s Michael Brooks leading the way with a double, two walks and a pair of runs. Cason Tollett added two walks and a run while Michael Sarhatt pitched three scoreless innings to get the win in relief.
Eastern Michigan’s Will Oberg had three doubles, two runs and two RBIs to lead the Mud Puppies (1-5).
Duluth plays a two-game set with Mankato at 3:05 p.m. Saturday and 1:05 p.m. Sunday before taking three days off for the Northwoods League All-Star break.
