The Duluth Huskies on Monday announced the signing of two players from Florida Southern University in Lakeland, Fla.
Cameron Popovich is a lanky pitcher from Danville, Calif. This past summer, he made five starts and went 1-1 with a 2.52 ERA for the Boca Raton Lightning of the South Florida Collegiate Baseball League. The 6-foot-4 hurler struck out 23 and allowed just 17 hits in 26 innings for Boca Raton.
Dominic Brugnoni of St. Clair Shores, Mich., is a 6-2, 200-pound outfielder. He hit .291 with three homers and 19 RBIs as a Florida Southern rookie last spring.
Both players will play with the Huskies for the 2014 season.
