Duluth’s Tommy Archer finished second behind Gar Robinson in the Trans Am T2 event at Brainerd International Raceway on Sunday.
Archer started third, slipped to sixth midway through the 40-lap race and then worked his way back to the runner-up position after a multi-car mishap in Turn 13.
“I just stayed with it and remained patient,” Archer said in a news release. “Everybody started to get loose and when we got to Turn 13, there were four guys bumping and racing side by side. We came out of that in second spot. I drove furiously (the rest of the way).”
The series resumes Aug. 12-13 in Lexington, Ohio.
