Temporary trail closures in place in the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore since storms caused major tree damage in the region last July have been lifted.
The National Park Service announced this week that the temporary closures on Oak, Michigan, Stockton and Manitou islands are no longer in effect.
Myra Foster, acting superintendent of the lakeshore, said a saw team from the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness helped reopen 25 miles of trails on the islands.
