Amateur baseball: Miners, Xpress take down Dukes

The Hibbing Miners and Duluth Xpress both picked up wins over the weekend against the Duluth-Superior Dukes with the Miners holding the Dukes to one-hit Saturday in Hibbing.
Hibbing pitchers Jeff Korpi, Derek Abrahamson, Kyle Maki, Jamie Steinberg and Matt Erickson combined for the one-hit shutout with Abrahamson getting the win on the mound. Abrahamson also scored the lone run on an RBI single by Steve Erickson.
The Dukes led 4-0 after the first inning Sunday at Wade Stadium, but Jon Kusch (three RBIs) and Brad Fossum (two RBIs) led the Xpress back for the win. Cam McDougall drove in two runs for the Dukes.
