Kyle Flagstad scored from third base on a Jon Kusch sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 10th inning Friday night as the Duluth Xpress defeated Red Wing 3-2 to open a Minnesota Class B men's amateur Super Sectional at Red Wing Athletic Field in Red Wing, Minn.
Four double-elimination sectionals are underway with the state tournament beginning next Friday.
Top-seeded Duluth (30-2) led 2-0 in the sixth inning with RBI singles from Brian Houdek and Neal Walsh. Red Wing rallied with two runs in the ninth inning.
Jake Snyder threw the first nine innings for Duluth, allowing five hits, and Thomas Rogers got the win in relief.
Duluth faces Cold Spring or Eagan today at 4 p.m.
