Bree Glynn and Sam Orth led a balanced effort with 13 points apiece to lead St. Catherine to a 75-52 MIAC women’s basketball victory over St. Scholastica Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021, before 85 at the Butler Center in St. Paul.

Greta Schimnowski, Sydney Elliott and Karis Zezza added nine points apiece as St. Catherine (3-3 overall, 2-1 MIAC) led 28-8 after the first quarter. Twelve players scored for St. Kate’s.

Miranda Broberg had 19 points to lead CSS (0-4, 0-2) while Emma Schmidt had nine points and Megan Hurley added six points.

Broberg has scored in double-figures in each of the first four games while Amelia Zmuda finished with a career-high five assists. St. Catherine’s, playing CSS for only the second time in program history and first since 2011, had a 36-8 advantage on points in the paint.

St. Scholastica returns to MIAC action next week when the Saints host Augsburg at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, at Reif Gymnasium.

Adrian, Foster honored by MIAC

St. Scholastica seniors Mitchell Adrian and Tandrell Foster were named to the MIAC Second Team as all-conference selections were announced Tuesday.

Adrian, of Altoona, Wisconsin, was a UMAC First Team selection in 2019. He senior wide receiver led the Saints this fall with 61 receptions for 467 yards and three touchdowns. His 7.6 receptions per game ranked eighth in NCAA Division III and second in the MIAC. He holds CSS’ program record with 206 receptions in 26 career games.

Foster, of Hurley, Wisconsin, earned all-conference honors for the first time in his career. The defensive tackle matched his career-high with 33 tackles this fall while setting a single-season program record with 16.5 tackles for loss.
